Position Summary
As a Retail Floor Associate at Spence Hardware & Supply, you play a key role in creating a welcoming, helpful experience for every customer. This position focuses on customer service, sales floor support, merchandising, and inventory, with occasional cashiering as needed. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented individual who takes pride in great customer service. Ideal candidates enjoy hands-on work, helping customers, and working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance in locating products and solving problems.
- Stock, organize, and maintain retail merchandise throughout the store, yard, and warehouse areas.
- Assist with outside load-outs.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked sales areas.
- Build and maintain working knowledge of farm, ranch, and hardware products to effectively assist customers and make recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations, especially during busy periods.
- Address customer questions or concerns promptly to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Operate POS/cash register as needed.
Qualifications
- Retail, hardware, farm & ranch, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift 60 lbs or more unassisted; must be able to bend, reach, and carry as required.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment while contributing positively to a team.
- Professional phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with lawn and garden, hardware, plumbing, electrical, fencing, and farm supplies is a plus.
- Forklift and skid loader experience is a significant advantage.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
