Job Location: Corporate Indianapolis PRIMARY PURPOSE The Vice President of Tax Compliance ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations; plans and monitors the company’s tax policies, procedures, and objectives; and is responsible for written and oral communication with Federal and State taxing authorities, Outside Investors, and Upper Management. Will be involved in various projects within the tax planning and structuring for a publicly traded REIT and the UpREIT structure. The Vice President of Tax Compliance manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the preparation and management of REIT taxable income estimates. Review complex tax returns to ensure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state, and international tax filings. Recognize technical tax issues, develop tax strategies and policies, and perform research and analysis. Oversee tax research and preparation of U.S. reporting for International Investments. Lead team in their continuous professional development. Manage Federal and State Audits. Assist with various special projects. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS College Degree in Accounting CPA license in good standing preferred 10 years tax management position Possess the understanding of partnership agreements, and the Internal Revenue Tax Code and Regulations. Experience in Real Estate Partnership Taxation, UPREIT unitholders including LTIP Units preferred. Knowledge of Individual and Corporate tax. Strong Accounting, analytical and research skills Strong leadership and personnel management skills. Can work independently and initiate discussions and analysis on current tax issues. Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills to complete goals timely. Exhibits a strong ability to manage multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy. Ability to work with Microsoft Office. Ability to learn and utilize ProSystem tax software and as well as other various tax and system software. Ability to learn and utilize Company accounting and Coupa payment software.
