Position Overview
The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for partnering with teams to ensure that business transaction activity is appropriately captured and accounted for in our financial statements. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, be able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment and show strong organizational skills.
Essential Functions (Other Duties as Assigned)
- Be in the mindset to take on new tasks, operationalize and streamline them, and move on to new additional responsibilities
- Continuously improve business processes, systems, and enhance documentation and controls
- Partner with the systems teams to build scalable revenue recognition processes in Intacct
- Review current revenue recognition processes/procedures and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and timeliness of the close and reporting
- Prepare daily reconciliations between the POS system and revenue reported in Intacct
- Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting schedules related to car wash sales and deferred membership revenue for each of our brands
- Partner with Loss Prevention team to investigate variances between revenue and cash receipts
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audits performed by external auditors
- Complete special projects as needed
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and files
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, master’s degree and/or CPA a plus
- 5 years of professional accounting experience including exposure to monthly closing processes required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines
- An analytical mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of accounting systems; experience with Sage Intacct a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of sitting: frequently required to stand and walk.
- Frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Must be able to talk and hear – in person, via computer (I.e., Teams meeting), and phone calls
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The work environment is typical of an office setting. The noise level is usually quiet.
- Travel is less than 10%.
