The Employment Professional will play a key role in both seeking and maintaining employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Employment Professional
- Salary: $20.23/hour
- Job Type: Full Time
- Location: La Plata
Duties Include but not limited to:
- Identify employment opportunities with the people supported based on individualized assessment information through assessments and inventories.
- Conducts individualized job development by speaking with employers in the community about the person's abilities and desires to obtain employment.
- Assist participants in preparing for interviews, completing job applications, and developing job-related skills.
- Develop positive relationships with businesses, community agencies, other departments, and outside vendors.
- Conduct assessments to identify accommodations) for each person.
- Provide discovery, job development, follow along support and ongoing job supports to the people supported at their places of employment, including job coaching and advocacy as needed.
- Provide transportation to and from places of employment, as needed.
- Complete accurate and timely daily documentation of all employment services.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
- Clean Driving Record with 2 years driving experience
- Experience working with disabled adults preferred
- Associate Degree Preferred
- Basic Computer Skills
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the participants and demands of the job.
- DDA, LTSS and ICM experience is a plus
- Successful completion of Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) within 6 months of hire.
- Successful completion of the Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) certification within 12 months of hire.
- Minimum of 2 years experience providing employment services to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
