What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Valuation Analyst position at SPS?
Residential RealEstate Review (RRR) is a BPO/AMC that provides quality property valuation products through a nation-wide network of highly qualified and experienced real estate professionals. Each valuation product delivered to the client passes a quality control review that utilizes industry accepted methodologies, as well as proprietary systems and processes that ensures the highest level of quality.
Summary of Duties:
The Quality Control Specialist is a full time position with benefits. The candidate is responsible to review Broker Price Opinions (BPOs) and Appraisals for accuracy and compliance to all order and regulatory requirements. Works directly with the agent or appraiser to resolve any revisions needed to ensure the final product delivered to the client meets all guidelines and requirements.
Duties:
- Verify that Broker Price Opinions (BPO) and Appraisals correctly identified the subject property and accurately reported all characteristics.
- Research and analyze comparable data to confirm that the subject was compared to the most recently available and similar properties from the immediate market and that all applicable differences in characteristics (e.g. conditions, economic factors and external influences) are appropriately noted and considered in the final value opinion.
- Clearly and professionally communicate with agents/appraisers when corrections or clarifications are needed in order achieve quality standards in a timely manner.
- Actively maintain a pipeline of orders that are awaiting corrections or clarification from agents/appraisers.
- Write narrative for management and clients that explain any key elements of the quality control review and to describe any potential risks that could impact future valuation of the property.
Knowledge:
- Real Estate, Property Valuation, or Mortgage background.
- Familiarity with real estate valuation product/documents
- Understanding of valuation principles and methodology
- Real estate license and / or appraiser license preferred, however other real estate or quality control review experience may be considered.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise independent judgment with respect to real estate valuations used during critical stages of loan performance process.
- Proven management skills, including ability to manage multiple projects under aggressive time constraints.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in using AVMs and other secondary internet sites.
- Positive team player who works well with others to accomplish team goals.
- Self-motivated and focused on completing objectives with little supervision.
