Job requirements and duties:

- Use electrical measurement equipment and tools of the trade effectively.
- Diagnose, program, replace and maintain VFD Drives
- Connect to, interact, and diagnose Rockwell PLC Systems up to Studio 5000
- Accurately maintain repair records such as work orders and historical data for future use.
- Must maintain a clean and organized professional work environment.
- Installs and repairs electrical wiring, controls, switches, etc.
- Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blue- prints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables using hand tools and required devices.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other workers, such as machine operator, maintenance technicians and department manager to diagnose the issue and reduce future incidents.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machinery, such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices, using hand tools.
- Diagnoses, and replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, using electronic test equipment, eliminating process, and hand tools.
- Replaces mounts, aligns and connects electrical motors.
- May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
- Thread and install as well as pull wire using rigid conduits.
- Understand and repair current loops and components as well as the calibration of thermocouples and other transmitters.
- May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Diagnose and Repair Honeywell Burner and Process controls used on furnace systems
- Perform basic welding to fabricate hangers and stands.
- Work overtime during outages or breakdowns with minimal notice when rarely required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of journey-level industrial electrical experience, OR completion of a four-year, accredited technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance and two (2) years of electrical experience. Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved is also acceptable.
- Ability to clearly demonstrate simple 3 phase control and latching circuits using NC and NO contacts, timers, and power transformers.
- Demonstrate the ability to choose the proper test equipment and evaluate 3 phase motors ranging from 5 to 1,000 HP.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of simple electrical formulas to determine Amps, Volts or Resistance of a motor or conductor.
- Ability to demonstrate the ability to identify symbols used in hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
- Demonstrate the ability to diagnose the cause of a basic VFD fault.
- Ability to demonstrate a knowledge of basic NEC standards.
- Ability to communicate, brainstorm and smoothly interact with other team members efficiently.
Preferred:
Candidates shall possess experience regarding aluminum processing equipment such as coreless electrical furnaces, gas reverbatory burner controls and processing/milling and conveyance systems.
Other preferred traits will be the desire to pursue a continued education and the completion of such challenges.
