We are seeking an OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT/OPTICIAN to become a part of our team! You responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Vision centers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Vision centers
- Complete patient pre-workup (medical history, autorefractor, IOP measurement, and pupils) for the doctor
- Maintaining office cleanliness and organization of resources
- Assist with frame styling customers with correct fitting eye wear, frame, and lens selection. Conclude exam with eyewear selection, sales, and ordering of final glasses/contacts.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment such as auto-refraction tests
- Responsible for building and maintaining a robust patient schedule.
- Fast paced rewarding environment, multi-tasking from technician responsibilities, optical, and scheduling in real time required.
- Assist with frame styling customers with correct fitting eye wear, frame, and lens selection
- Answering telephones and scheduling appointments
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available
Qualifications
- Experience preferred but not required: training provided for optical, and optometry related skills.
- Willing to stay up to date in optometry advancements and continued education.
- Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
- Detailed oriented and organized
- Great interpersonal skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Willing to travel to multiple locations
- Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required
- Must be willing to work a rotating schedule between Greenspoint and Conroe Health Centers
