Position Summary: The Driver is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all residents, their guests, volunteers, St. John’s employees, to and from their appointments and/or events, safely, courteously and reliably. Responsibilities include:
- Perform daily vehicle safety inspections.
- Maintain clean vehicles.
- Assist passengers in and out of vehicles as needed.
- Relay any information that assists dispatch with daily schedules.
- Record times and mileages for all trips on a daily basis.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings.
- Some weekend and evening work may be required, may need to work other hours than normally assigned or after normal end shift, and/or may be assigned to another shift as needed.
Qualifications:
- GED or High School Graduate.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must meet DOT standards regarding drug abuse and alcohol misuse.
- Maintain a valid New York State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or C with Passenger endorsement and current DOT Card.
- Wheelchair bus experience.
