The basics of this position:

Tutors are responsible for assisting students with the academic challenges they encounter while taking college preparatory classes. Tutors will be responsible for assisting teachers and high school students in classroom learning. Tutors are responsible for assisting students in completing assignments and other program activities. Tutors must be willing to work two Saturdays each month, attend staff meetings and perform other job-related duties as assigned. Tutors must be proficient in one of the following subject areas: English, math (algebra through pre-calculus), Science (biology and/or chemistry), foreign language (Spanish, French, or Latin).

What you'll do:

  • Tutors will be placed in classrooms to assist students and facilitators in the subject area being taught. Tutors are responsible for assisting students in completing assignments, assisting with supervising participants during campus program activities.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

Tutors must have an associate's degree or 60 credit hours of college level work. Tutors must have a minimum of two years experience tutoring students from TRIO programs or other federally funded programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelors degree in the subject area and one-year tutoring experience tutoring students from TRIO programs or other federally funded programs.
