Activities Director – Full-Time | Long-Term Care
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday with occasional weekends/holidays

St. Luke Lutheran Community – North Canton is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead our resident engagement programs. This role is perfect for someone who brings energy, creativity, and purpose to everything they do — and wants to make a real impact on the daily lives of older adults.
What You’ll Do:
Plan, organize, and implement engaging daily activities and events for residents
Create monthly calendars based on residents' interests, preferences, and care plans
Conduct assessments and maintain updated records on resident participation and progress
Supervise, train, and schedule activities staff and volunteers
Coordinate special events, outings, wellness programs, arts & crafts, games, and more
Communicate with residents, care teams, and loved ones to promote engagement
Ensure programming aligns with CMS guidelines and state regulations
Manage departmental supplies and budget effectively
Collaborate in care planning meetings and contribute to person-centered care
Build connections with local entertainers, volunteers, and organizations to enrich programming
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional (as required by Ohio regulations)
Recent experience in a social or recreation program in a healthcare setting (preferred)
Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
Ability to lead with empathy, communicate clearly, and adapt activities to various needs
Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) preferred
STNA certification a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to compliance and documentation
