Job Summary
Develop employment opportunities for clients by recruiting new employers; conduct follow-up actions for retention purposes, track and report on job placements and liaise with DHHS/CAMW.

Role and Responsibilities
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for job development and client placement by using all available resources in developing employment opportunities: newspaper classified ads, bulletin boards, employment agencies, Michigan Works, the internet, etc.
- Understanding of the refugee population including characteristics, behaviors, needs, etc.
- Make contact with private and public sectors for employment opportunities using personal contact, telephone, and/or internet connections, while maintaining long-term employer relationships.
- Case note all appropriate contacts and activities relating to job development
- Ability to conduct outreach presentations to local employers explaining the benefits of hiring refugees.
- Maintain on-going communication with Job Development Coordinator, Case Managers and other Program staff to ensure employer/client needs and requests are addressed.
- Initiate and maintain personal contacts and relationships with local businesses to identify job placement opportunities through various means including, but not limited to:
- Telephone calls
- Face to face meetings
- Formal or informal presentations
- Track contacts with employers on forms provided by DHS and on STVCC forms.
- Ensure current employment leads are available to case management staff through regular communications and bi-weekly meetings.
- Advocate for clients with active employers regarding salary increases and job upgrades.
- Provide, scan and email job claims/4785Rs/RFSSP to DHHS office
- Provide oversight for contract compliance and be source of information for all employment grants
- Assist with writing and submitting reports to grantors.
- Provide leadership outcomes to STVCC Dashboard
- Provide 2 week/90 and 180 day case note lists to CMs when needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, employment team meetings, DHHS/CAMW/ORS meetings
- Attend and actively participate in Agency and Program meetings, conferences, in-services and other meetings deemed appropriate.
- Prepare reports on job development and placement activities, if applicable.
- Maintain a professional appearance and behavior as a representative of the Agency and Program.
Salary : $40,300 - $51,100
