What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Buyer position at StaffBright?
Currently, StaffBright has an exciting Corporate Buyer opportunity with one of our manufacturing clients in Novi, MI. This Corporate Buyer role is responsible for managing assigned commodities, developing sourcing strategies, and driving improvements in cost, quality, and supplier performance.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage assigned commodities to meet KPIs such as cost reduction, localization, VA/VE, quality, and supplier development
- Develop and manage commodity strategies
- Analyze supplier costs, pricing, and competitiveness
- Understand key cost drivers to compare quotes and negotiate pricing
- Create cost estimates to support sourcing and negotiations
- Lead supplier negotiations and issue purchase orders for parts and tooling
- Maintain procurement records, including RFQs, contracts, pricing, and agreements
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers
- Identify and support cost reduction opportunities with internal teams and suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct annual business reviews
- Support new program launches, projects, and localization efforts in North America
- Serve as an escalation point for supplier-related issues
- Support manufacturing plants with supplier performance and strategic issues
What We'll Need From You:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3 years of direct purchasing experience
- Experience with automotive parts and material manufacturing purchasing
- Strong negotiation and Excel skills required
- Strong MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skill sets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and data management skills
