What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fork Lift Operator position at Staffinders Inc?
Material Handlers working at the Butler, Indiana steel plant will be working at the largest facility in the company. At approximately 550,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 4-5 acres of outside coil storage, the opportunity to grow and advance is dependent on your ability to retain training information, perform daily job functions and accomplish safety checks.
SHIFTS AVAILABLE: 2ND/3RD Shifts
PAY: $15.87/HR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Positive Attitude
- Mechanically inclined.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Overhead crane experience preferred.
- Shipping / Receiving (Tow Motor) Experience preferred.
- Steel coil (heavy or light gauge) experience a plus!
- Splitting also a plus!
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
- Safety is a condition of employment.
- Ability to wear required PPE (steel-toes boots, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – including but not limited to the following:
- Sorts and/or processes steel materials.
- Review work orders, retrieve necessary materials, inspect component materials for compliance.
- Push/pull hydrochloric pickle line, a low carbon tempering mill, and 5 slitters.
- May use plasma cutters and various equipment stationed in the warehouse such as balers, wire strippers, etc.
- May be required to operate forklift.
- Maintains good housekeeping practices for entire facility.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy machinery.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
