Job Summary


The primary function of the CSR is to act as the liaison between Standex Electronics and the customers / accounts to which they are assigned. Correspondence includes phone calls, emails, and faxes regarding purchase orders, order status, ship dates, expedites, tracking information, etc.


The CSR is accountable for specific details and requirements for each of their customers. Responsibilities include managing supplier portals (web based orders / updates), spreadsheets, shipping methods and special paperwork such as commercial invoices, etc. All communication with the customer should be in a timely and professional manner. An ability to work independently and under time constraints is crucial.


The CSR is also responsible for handling inbound calls from potential customers, as well as the proper routing / escalation of these calls.


Essential Functions

  • Performs all functions of a Customer Service Representative.
  • Serves as the key internal contact for customers.
  • Provides order processing and expediting as required.
  • Provides all non-technical customer service functions within approved policies and procedures of Standex Electronics.
  • Works with the Director, Marketing / Customer Service to ensure cooperative and effective relationships involving activities between various functional departments.
  • Promotes a positive image of Standex Electronics to customers and the industry.
  • Provides feedback / insight within organization to help improve customer-driven culture.
  • Performs other duties and oversees projects

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business-related curricula with at least five (5) years’ experience as a customer service representative, or a High school degree with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as a customer service representative or inside sales
  • Strong business acumen, phone etiquette, and crisis management capabilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in typing
  • Must work well in team / matrix environment
  • Strong computer skills, including Office, ERP (SAP Business)
  • EDI / web portal experience a plus
  • Bilingual – English / Spanish – a plus
