Work hours: 7:35 am 2:35 pm
Schedule: Building based position with a regular schedule, two to four days per week
Rate of pay: $113.61 per day

Summary:
Primary duty is to assist students in performing activities initiated by the teacher; works in small groups or one on one with students to provide specialized instructional assistance
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree with experience working with youth with special needs; however, a combination of HS diploma with 2 years of related experience will be considered.
- Experience with emotionally disturbed and/or learning disabled students preferred
- Complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training and utilize skills in a School environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of primary curriculum, resources and classroom management
- Maintain discipline and control disruptive behavior
- Operate a computer to perform work
- Maintain records and prepare reports
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, occasional lifting and/or moving more than 25 pounds
- Most work is indoors except when supervising students on field trips or outdoors on School grounds
- Physical activity requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items
- Moderate physical activity with the ability to initiate or participate in physical interventions when necessary
