Job Opportunity: Entry-Level After-School Staff for K-5th Grade Students
STAR Education seeks dedicated individuals to join our team as entry-level after-school staff. Job Details:
- Schedule:
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 2 pm-6 pm
- Tuesday: 1 pm-6 pm
- Ideal for College Students
- Must be able to work with a group of 20 children.
Educational Requirements:
- A minimum of 12 college/university units in any combination of the following fields: Child Development, Early Childhood Development, Art, Music, Dance, Physical Education, Psychology, Sociology, Sports, or Yoga. *** Transcripts required ***
- Alternatively, you can have six units and be currently enrolled in 6 units. Transcripts will be required to verify your education.
Experience:
- Previous experience of approximately six months, paid or volunteer, directly working with children is preferred. Examples of relevant experience include coaching, recreation leadership, teaching, teacher's assistant, youth development programs, or involvement in youth groups.
COVID-19 Vaccination:
- As per LAUSD employee guidelines, all staff members must provide proof of vaccination against the COVID-19 virus.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background check is necessary to be eligible for employment.
- Physical fitness is essential as the role requires walking, running, and jumping while working with children.
- Availability from school dismissal until 6 pm is required.
- Documentation of the following immunizations is necessary: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis).
- Must be able to work with a group of 20 children.
