General Description
A compliance support specialist supports MCLE compliance, non-compliance, accreditation processes and staff through data entry. Assure accuracy and timeliness of records and filing systems. Provide effective customer service through telephone and email with attorneys and CLE sponsors. A compliance support specialist looks to a supervisor or the director to solve more complex problems and to make final decisions on policies. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Primary Functions
1. Answers incoming calls to provide compliance, non-compliance and accreditation information and service to walk-in customers.2. Provides back-up assistance and general administrative support to compliance and accreditation course review. 3. Suspension Notification: Research records and call attorneys prior to processing for suspension. Make sure that attorneys understand what is needed to avoid suspension and document files with information about the call.4. Opens, sorts, and performs initial review for distribution of incoming mail. Scan checks and correspondence to be emailed to designated staff. Keeps log of express mail received. 5. Processes routine correspondence and prepares complex correspondence for further processing and review.6. Assists with processing compliance records by entering non-compliance payments and issuing reinstatement letters.7. Maintains correspondence, attendance and course application files. 8. Upload and review electronic attendance received via email, make corrections and notify sponsor of errors with file. 9. Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain department operations.
Position Requirements
High school education or equivalent required. Requires four years of customer service experience in an office environment with accounting skills, verbal and written communication skills, computer and database management, time management, and work-flow and team management skills. Must be able to address visitors and the public in a courteous and professional manner. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrate flexibility in scheduling work and able to complete a variety of tasks.
