What are the responsibilities and job description for the ATTORNEY 4 position at State of Louisiana?
Civil Service & Employee Relations Lead attorney for internal disciplinary processes, including reviewing investigative reports, maintaining disciplinary records, drafting and approving disciplinary letters, settlement agreements, and representing OJJ in Civil Service hearings and appeals.
Juvenile Hearings & Litigation Represent the Deputy Secretary in complex litigation before federal, state, and city courts. Prepare motions, pleadings, briefs, and appellate work; interview staff, youth, and witnesses; provide legal counsel to regional offices and facilities.
Additional Duties
Review criminal records of potential detention center employees.
Analyze and interpret legislation impacting the agency; serve on committees as needed.
Provide assistance to other agency attorneys and serve as Ethics Liaison.
Conduct training on disciplinary processes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.

Work Location: This position is located at the Office of Juvenile Justice-Central Office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The incumbent of this position must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c)
