The Position
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2025-002, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2025. Please refer to the link for more information: https://gov.nv.gov/Newsroom/ExecOrders/Executive-Orders/ The Fisheries Management Division has a seasonal position performing a variety of duties related to wildlife management, conservation, fish culture and wildlife ecology. This is a 9-month, full time, seasonal position stationed at the Las Vegas office. Work duties will include field activities on Lakes Mead and Mohave and other areas. The field work may include camping at remote location sites on the workdays. All positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations.
