The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction, purchasing and contracting for goods and services, maintaining facilities, managing state vehicles, acquiring and disposing of real property, and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally, the department manages many of the state's advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the state's population that have been traditionally underserved.
Description of Work
This position reports to the Assignment Manager and also receives assignments from the lot supervisor. This individual is responsible for providing car-wash services and support for the processing, assignment and surplus of state-owned vehicles which involves processing of new and old vehicles for assignment.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $31,200 - $ 36,720
Job duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Ensure vehicle keys are secured and all vehicle doors are locked.
- Submit required documentation and forms within prescribed division timelines.
- Transport vehicles offsite as needed.
- Process new vehicles and up-fit vehicles with a telematics unit, stickers, decals, and other types of state identification.
- Ensure that all new vehicles are free of defects/issues before they are assigned.
- Process surplus vehicles for disposal and ensures that telematics unit, stickers, decals, and other types of state identification are removed prior to being delivered for disposal.
- Process used vehicles for reassignment.
- Power wash and clean vehicles as needed.
- Aid customers at the MFM fuel pump.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Punctual.
MANAGEMENT PREFERENCE:
Ability to write legibly, as the records are vital to the proper registration and assignment of the vehicles.

NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid NC Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Out of State Applicants must have valid Driver's License or acquire NC Driver's License within 60 days of hire. Candidate must present proof of a valid NC Driver's License and proof of an acceptable driving record.
Minimum Education and Experience
