The person in this position will coordinate and/or assist in the development and/or revision of College and Career Ready Academic Standards and supporting materials. Develop, implement, and evaluate professional learning opportunities to improve the capacity of teachers, administrators, and district personnel to support student achievement. Collaborate with South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) teams, offices, divisions and external agencies, community organizations, colleges and universities at state and national levels to ensure timely and effective support to all stakeholders. Engage in professional growth opportunities that contribute to the Office of Assessment and Standards' (OAS) capacity to model and support effective practices that foster student achievement. Perform other duties as assigned. 
 
This position is located in the Office of Assessment and Standards.A bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business.A master's degree and at least ten (10) years of experience teaching secondary English education. Experience with secondary literacy coaching, administration, and professional development facilitation. Limited out-of-state travel.  Possible substantial in-state travel to provide trainings.
