What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Professional I position at State of South Carolina?
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 525 Lafayette Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
Under direct supervision, provide therapeutic services, particularly as a specialist for children and adolescent services within the Georgetown School-Based Program for Waccamaw Center for Mental Health. Provide counseling and case management dealing with situations encompassing interpersonal, health, and psychosocial factors.
Provide therapy, emergency services, and case management services to persons experiencing emotional disturbance, to include assessments, crisis intervention, individual, group, and family therapy, patient and family education.
Maintain documentation of all charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, Local, SCDMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance, and CARF standards.
Provide a variety of coordination and consultation services with the school, community agencies, and DMH staff. Educates the community through workshops and presentations in regard to children and mental health issues.
Perform other related duties and tasks as required by supervisor and/or Clinic Director.
STATE REQUIREMENTS:A Master's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences. Must be able to meet DMH credentialing requirements.
