What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumber II (#011408) Plumbing, Columbia (RICHLAND) position at State of South Carolina?

  • Supervise and assist in installation and emergency repair of plumbing systems, underground utilities and sewer systems statewide.
  • Submit requisitions and estimated costs on routine maintenance and institutional repairs.
  • Instruct and train personnel in the operation of plumbing, sewer and underground utility systems.
  • Perform required tests and collect data to improve & maintain efficiency and performance of all related systems.  
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air, water, gas or waste disposal systems.


SCDC Minimum Requirements: 

  • A high school diploma and 5 years of trades experience directly related to the plumbing area of employment.
