What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Services Assistant position at State of South Carolina?
Under general supervision of the Director of Residential Life/ Assistant Directors Residential Life this position will provide immediate student services oversight and guidance in matters pertaining to health and safety, discipline, and personal-social problems. This includes assisting with nightly check-in of students. Counsels, advises, and assists students to promote and support the whole child. Implements intervention strategies, disciplinary measures, and support mechanisms. Serves as a liaison with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and the general public. Ensures timely intervention to challenges as they arise. Coordinates student activities and events. Ensures in collaboration with campus partners, development and adherence to policies and procedures relating to safety, residence hall cleanliness, DHEC regulations, fire code regulations, student illness and injury, and student attendance. Performs other duties as required.

A high school diploma and experience in Student, Human or Social Service Programs.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be able to identify, develop, and implement programs and activities that will benefit the campus community.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to work variable hours and shifts, including 2-3 weekends per month.
