Billing Supervisor – Billing – Full Time
Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital, stand-alone, not-for-profit hospital located in Ste. Genevieve, MO, that focuses on personalized care. What To Expect As a Billing Supervisor
- Responsible for managing and processing billing activities, ensuring timely and accurate submission of claims, and resolving billing inquiries and disputes.
- Supervise and support healthcare billing staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Oversee the accurate preparation, submission, and follow-up of insurance and patient claims
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and requirements.
- Resolve billing inquiries and disputes with patients, insurance providers, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor accounts receivable, denial trends, and aging reports, identifying and communicating any issues or concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
- Collaborate with coding, clinical staff and front-office staff to ensure accurate documentation and timely billing for services provided.
- Participate in billing office meetings and provide regular updates on billing activities.
- Maintain billing policies, procedures, and workflow documentation.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices related to medical billing and coding.
- Scan and upload documents into the billing system, including eligibility responses and other supporting documents.
- Support audits and respond to payer or regulatory inquiries
- Provide customer service; respond to patient and insurance inquiries regarding billing-related matters, including payment inquiries, statement requests, and other concerns.
- Ensure compliance with regulations related HIPAA regulations related to the handling of confidential patient information.
- Assist with other billing-related tasks as needed, including account reconciliation, and other administrative duties.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Basic Office Skills: computer proficiency, typing, filing, answering phones, email etiquette, and organization.
- 3-5 years previous experience in a medical setting, preferably in filing and medical insurance claims.
- Strong analytical skills are necessary for problem-solving, decision-making, and process improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for conflict resolution, customer service, and maintaining a positive work environment
