Responsibilities
The main purpose of this position is to plan, develop and direct the nutritional care of assigned residents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assesses nutritional needs of residents from diet history, laboratory reports, physician diagnosis, and from information obtained by performing meal rounds and interviewing residents/families.
- Monitors care plans for assigned residents and charts residents’ progress as necessary. Documents appropriate dietary counseling of residents and families.
- Maintains computer data base of special nutrition and menu needs of residents.
- Assists with development of menus and writing of standardized recipes with therapeutic modifications.
