Sterling Search Partners is assisting a local church that is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to help with financial recordkeeping, payroll processing, and administrative coordination. This role requires accuracy, discretion, and the ability to work independently while supporting the organization’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, record, and deposit donations; maintain accurate contribution records
- Prepare financial documentation for the external accountant
- Assist with budget tracking and expense monitoring
- Process payroll for hourly employees and maintain payroll records
- Review and reconcile employee expense reports and credit card receipts
- Coordinate vendor invoices and prepare checks for authorized payments
- Maintain insurance and workers’ compensation documentation
- Support benefits administration by maintaining enrollment records
- Maintain organized financial and personnel files
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with internal policies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; coursework or degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Previous bookkeeping, payroll, or financial data entry experience preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software, payroll systems, and spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion

Additional Details:
- Approximately 20 hours per week
