Preferred Qualifications

Brief Description Of Duties
Administrative/Pharmacy Benefit Management and Quality Assurance:
- Manage the PBM services provided by the Long Island Clinical Center of Excellence.
- Support and guide pharmacy work performed by care coordinators, ensuring oversight over use of Vital Point System, including proper and complete documentation. Ensure appropriate decision-making at the care coordinator level and excellent customer service. Ensure standard protocols meet Program requirements for WTC Health Program pharmacy benefit services.
- Responsible for all pharmacy related quality metrics, analyzing and reviewing data, developing strategies for continuous quality improvement and monthly/quarterly outcome reporting.
- Conduct regular drug utilization reviews (DUR), controlled substance audits, prescriber reviews and other audits to ensure prescribing patterns meet Program standards and rules for medical necessity for the treatment of certified conditions and other formulary rules.
- As a designee for the Director, review prior authorizations in accordance with Program criteria. Ensure all formulary protocols are followed, and sufficient documentation is maintained to support the decision.
- Communicate with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) pharmacists and Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) team as needed to resolve problems.
- Responsible for preparing formal responses to the government. inquiries (outlier reports, annual assessments and other ad hoc audits).
- Research – participate in research projects as assigned.
- Answer patient inquiries via the Call Center and respond efficiently to resolve access issues for members.
- Review medication history with all members receiving WTC Health Program treatment services once a year to ensure that WTC records are accurate and complete.
- Discuss, optimize, and provide necessary recommendations to patient's drug regimen with physician utilizing the collaborative drug therapy management protocol. Collaborate with physicians during visits to optimize drug regimens. Ensure clinic staff are kept updated with pharmacy-related information.
- Documentation of clinical interventions, recommendations and patient interactions via electronic health records.
- Resolve complex medication issues.
- Respond to patient calls about clinical medication issues/questions.
- Address drug information requests from providers.
