Located in Nevada, Iowa, our Medical Center delivers high quality healthcare in a community-oriented manner in more than two dozen services and specialties.

As a Cook you will:

• Prepare and cook hot foods for patients, employees, visitors, community outpatient services and special functions, working from established recipes and menu cycles.
• Incorporate basic food preparation skills utilizing standardized quantified recipes to assure retention of nutritive values, palatability, and appetizing appearance of food served to clients
• Review menus and production sheets to determine type and quantities of assigned items to be prepared
• Plan cooking so food is ready at the designated time
• Portion food attractively and accurately as specified in recipe and/or menu
• Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and orderly manner in accordance with departmental standards
• Assist in the distribution and set-up of patient trays
• Assist in preparation and set-up of catering events

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Must have knowledge of foods and methods of preparation
• Successful completion of ServSafe within 90 days of hire.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Ability to plan work in order to meet established deadlines.
• At least 2 years of quantity cooking experience in a health care facility preferred.

Salary Range: $17.00 - $25.50
