Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in core subjects such as literacy, math, and science.
  • Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through behavior management techniques and classroom management skills.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and ongoing observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Provide tutoring and additional support for students requiring extra help in areas like literacy education, math, or special education needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school initiatives, and extracurricular activities such as physical education or library services.
  • Mentor students to foster social-emotional development, including working with children with autism or those in early intervention programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding progress and concerns.
  • Support inclusive education practices by adapting lessons for diverse learners, including those with special needs or in private school settings.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori methods, early childhood education, or other specialized areas.

Skills

  • Proven experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Familiarity with learning technology tools, standardized testing procedures, and literacy education techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities, including children with autism or behavioral challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Experience with tutoring, mentoring, or providing special education support is highly desirable.
  • Writing skills for documentation and parent communication; proofreading skills are a plus for instructional materials.
  • Knowledge of library services integration into classroom activities; experience with Montessori or private school environments is advantageous. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23,723.00 - $38,726.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
