Strategic Resilience Group, LLC seeks a Business Development Director to support corporate growth strategies across the company. This role will interface closely with Department of Defense customers, Fourth Estate and state and local entities, to identify customer operational requirements and create business strategies that deliver advanced solutions that meet these needs. The selected candidate will lead Business Development and work closely with all levels of the company. Additionally, the selected candidate must have the knowledge and collaborative skills to ensure each market is optimally oriented for growth. The candidate will work with programmatic and functional leaders to recognize, prioritize, develop and capture new business opportunities.
Remote work with occasional in-person attendance at SRG’s Stafford, VA office for select activities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively executes the company’s strategic growth plan.
- Translating customer needs into specific requirements and identifying and tailoring company services and solutions into offerings.
- Identification, creation, and validation of program opportunities.
- Assesses opportunities available within and beyond existing markets, offerings, and business models.
- Customer and partner relationship development and interaction engagement across multiple levels and functions.
- Technical/operational/customer/partner knowledge for the company’s business areas, inclusive of the Joint Venture initiatives.
- Responsible for managing multiple communications channels for dissemination of information regarding the assigned market to internal customers.
- Responsible for managing strategic partnerships with Teaming Partners.
- Conduct market and opportunity research, analysis, and business case development.
- Recommend financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives; implement and maintain strategic and operational plans.
- Maintain broad knowledge of DoD agencies, Joint Staff and Military Departments associated with the Defense Systems Sector portfolio.
- Maintain broad knowledge of the Department of Veterans Affairs and other agencies to maximize exploitation of SDVOSB business opportunities.
- Develop and oversee the execution of capture plans.
- Develop and oversee the execution of Business Development processes.
- Meet with potential government customers and contracting officers.
- Develop and oversee plans to get into markets currently untapped by company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of related business development, DoD requirements development, budgeting and/or operational expertise; or a Master’s degree and 8 years of related business development, DoD requirements development, budgeting and/or operational expertise
- Knowledge of and experience with Department of Defense requirements, budget acquisition processes
- Knowledge of and experience with Department of Veteran Affairs and other civilian agency requirements, budget and acquisition processes
- Experience working with OSD, Joint Staff, Military Department, and civilian agency senior leaders and staffs
- Formal training in Shipley best practices.
- Excellent critical thinking, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Capability to set priorities and work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Expert in use of the Microsoft suite of tools
- Self starter, self motivated and the desire to push the company to greater heights
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current active DoD Secret or Top-Secret security clearance
- Demonstrated, effective communication skills with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, negotiating and problem solving with a wide range of stakeholders and leaders
- Track record of delivering differentiated solutions that have led to tangible new business growth
- A result driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations
- Experience with USG international sales processes and international customers
- Ability to think across the doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF) spectrum to develop creative solutions to customer needs
- Capable of communicating and building trust with executive level customers and internal executive leadership
- Have a vision of where the company can go.
