We are currently recruiting a Business Development Associate to join SSU’s Business Development Team. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and results-driven professional with a strong background in business development with an emphasis in preparing proposals to federal government requirements, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should possess a keen understanding of federal government solicitations, market trends, a proven ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships, and a strategic mindset to identify new business opportunities. Additionally, we seek an individual who is highly motivated, adaptable to change, and committed to contributing to the growth and success of SSU's Business Development Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and management of proposals to Government Solicitations / Request For Proposal (RFPs).
- Prepare draft Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and Teaming Agreement (TA) documents in support of teaming with industry partners.
- Conduct compliance analysis of draft proposals based on the RFP/Solicitation requirements.
- Review and Analyze RFP/Solicitations consisting of multiple volumes with occasional large page counts.
- Conduct thorough market research to inform management's capture decisions and strategic planning.
- Collaborate in the preparation of comprehensive proposals and quotes for Federal Government clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Manage and update the corporate opportunity pipeline using SSU's capture management tool, ensuring efficient administration and providing valuable insights.
- Contribute to the creation and enhancement of marketing materials, aligning them with SSU's brand identity and messaging strategy.
- Play a key role in the planning and coordination of trade shows and expos to maximize SSU's visibility and networking opportunities.
- Support contract administration processes, including documentation and compliance tracking, to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Develop a deep understanding of SSU's business operations and culture to better align with organizational goals and values.
- Collaborate in preparing comprehensive responses to data calls and capabilities matrix requirements from Prime Contractors, showcasing SSU's capabilities effectively.
Required Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, finance, or related field OR a student in good standing progressing towards a Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-2 years of professional experience with federal government procurement.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills and experience.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while aligning with strategic frameworks and organizational goals.
- Good business acumen, with a solid understanding of market dynamics and business development principles.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to seeking clarification through asking thoughtful questions.
- Proven ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and assignments simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
- Excellent organizational skills, including meticulous attention to detail and effective time management.
- Proficiency in project management to ensure efficient execution of tasks and projects.
- Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and willingness to take on diverse responsibilities in day-to-day tasks.
- Must be efficient at utilizing computer-based tools (MS Office suite of software, MS Outlook, MS Teams, Zoom Meeting, MS Publisher) to accomplish tasks and communicate with others.
