Project Architect

SSU is a strategically focused, innovative organization that provides world class services and
customizable modular structures to include ICD 705 compliant SCIFs across the globe to meet our
customers’ unique requirements and critical objectives. Our modular structures are custom with
past projects ranging from 24 square feet to just under 13,000 square feet (two-story
structure). Our structures are designed for outdoor harsh environmental conditions as well as for
applications inside of existing buildings, warehouses, conference rooms or office space. Our past
and current projects are located throughout the United States to include global locations such as
Hawaii, Poland, Germany, United Kingdom, Jordan, Philippines, Japan.

SSU’s Construction Department is currently recruiting for a Project Architect. The ideal candidate
will possess a solid background in construction engineering or a related field, showcasing expertise
in overseeing the design, planning, and execution of modular structures, including ICD 705
compliant SCIFs. They should have a proven track record in managing projects of various scales.
The candidate will demonstrate proficiency in addressing the unique challenges posed by both
outdoor harsh environmental conditions and indoor applications within existing buildings,
warehouses, conference rooms, or office spaces.

Location: Fayetteville, NC
Security Clearance: current Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Security
Clearance

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architectural design and planning process for modular structures ensuring

compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, engineers, project managers, and key

stakeholders to develop innovative and efficient design solutions.

• Manage the execution of construction projects, overseeing the implementation of

architectural plans and ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

• Conduct regular on-site inspections to monitor progress and address any design or

construction issues promptly.

• Design-build and customize modular structures based on customer specifications and

unique project requirements.

• Adapt designs to accommodate diverse environmental conditions, whether for outdoor

deployment or integration within existing buildings.

• Engage with clients and partners to understand their needs, provide updates, and

address any design-related queries.

• Prepare and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including drawings,

specifications, and reports.

• Organize and update project records to ensure accuracy and accessibility for reference

and future analysis.

• Implement and enforce quality assurance processes related to architectural design,

ensuring that constructed structures meet or exceed industry standards.

• Conduct reviews and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and

customer expectations.

• Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and construction technologies to

integrate innovative solutions into architectural designs.

Required Professional Qualifications:

• Experienced professional with an educational architecture background with a degree or

equivalent professional certification in designing and planning modular structures (ICD 705
SCIF experience is preferred).

• Proven ability to lead and manage the execution of construction projects, ensuring

adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

• Experience customizing modular structures based on customer specifications and adapting

designs for diverse environmental conditions.

• Proficiency in preparing and maintaining detailed architectural documentation, including

drawings, specifications, and reports.

• Knowledge and implementation of quality assurance processes related to architectural

design.

• Remain informed about industry trends, materials, and construction technologies for

integrating innovative solutions into designs.
