Lead Hip Hop Instructor
Pay: $17.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)

For over 15 years, Studio 55 has been the heart of Hillsdale County’s dance community. We are looking for a dynamic Lead Hip Hop Instructor to reinvent and elevate our hip hop program. This role is ideal for someone with strong hip hop experience who brings positive energy into the classroom and enjoys working with dancers ages 5–18.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the hip hop program at Studio 55
- Teach weekly hip hop classes for dancers ages 5–18 at varying levels
- Choreograph engaging, age-appropriate routines for classes, performances, and recital
- Bring fresh choreography, musicality, and style into the classroom
- Create a fun, high-energy environment while maintaining structure and expectations
- Mentor dancers in confidence, performance quality, and individuality
- Collaborate with studio leadership to shape the vision and direction of the hip hop program
- Support performances, rehearsals, and special events as needed
Schedule & Commitment:
- Weekday evenings (typically starting at 4:00 PM or later)
- Occasional weekends for rehearsals, performances, or events
- Season runs September 2026 – mid-May 2027
- Opportunities for summer camps, workshops, and additional choreography
- Long-term commitment preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong background in hip hop dance and choreography
- Experience teaching hip hop to children and teens
- Ability to adapt movement and teaching style for multiple age groups
- Confidence leading classes independently and setting expectations
- Experience with competitive or performance-based choreography is a plus
