Description
Library Substitute candidate must be available to work on an “as needed” basis in at least two of the three Summit County Library branches in Silverthorne, Frisco or Breckenridge. Must be available to work some nights and weekends. Under direction of Library staff, the Library Substitute assists in operating the circulation desk, helps maintain the collection, provides excellent customer service and works with the staff teams to develop a sustainable approach to library programs and services. The Library Substitute may be asked to support or provide programs for the library.
Typical Qualifications
- Applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- An ability to provide a high level of internal and external customer service.
- An understanding of technology including MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook and a commitment to supporting the Summit County Library mission and goals.
- Must have High School diploma, college degree preferred. Prior experience working in a library desirable as well as working with children or teens in some capacity.

Must pass a local background check.
This is a part time non-benefitted position. Shifts are offered to Library Substitutes on an as needed basis.
This is a high energy and physically demanding job that requires moving up and downstairs travel to attend meetings in other locations, bending, lifting 10-20 pounds, moving chairs, tables and boxes of books, balancing, squatting, standing over 50% of the time, stretching and fine motor skills.
