Production Supervisor

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports Value added activities at specified locations in accordance with the reporting Production Manager. Works both autonomously and with management to direct staff and meet company production goals. Works to ensure required efficiency standards and customer quality requirements are met. Oversee and support line leaders in production and assist in the safe manufacturing of orders. Perform checks on the production line leaders and finished products to assure productivity and specification compliance. Responsible to ensure materials are cleared from the lines for reconciliation and materials are properly staged for changeovers. Coordinate with Production Manager on staffing needs. Ensures a safe and clean environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Works hand in hand with the Production Manager to plan and coordinate resource needs, as well as project completion timelines.
• Reads production schedules, and co-ordinates setup team to be prepared for change overs.
• Oversees arrangement of line and equipment in specified sequence for assembly by other workers to meet or exceed production standards.
• Ensures proper allocation of equipment and labor to production lines for line start-ups.
• Audits start up procedures, first piece samples and continuous adherence to production standards.
• Ensures customer quality standards are met by production.
• Supervises line leaders and labor workforce accountability and GMP compliance.
• As needed escalates issues to the Production Manager.
• Conveys materials and items from warehouse or production areas systematically.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed to each line.
• Ensures timely completion of end of run reconciliations by support staff.
• Runs appropriate applications to track product and production systematically.
• Creates and promotes a safe working environment for all employees.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Supervisory in a production facility: Minimum 1 year (Required)
• Lean manufacturing processes and understands and can implement single piece flow processes
• Ability to comprehend and follow the Planning Instructions
• 2 or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong technical experience with the ability to quickly learn new programs and applications to support the operations
• Ability to perform changeover and make appropriate minor adjustments to machines.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Being proficient in Packmanager is a plus.
• Working knowledge and experience using general office software.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. frequently

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

This position requires work in both an office setting and a warehouse setting. Work often requires “after hours” communication or extended work hours, including weekend or evening work. Working conditions in the warehouse setting may or may not be environmentally controlled resulting in hot or cold temperatures. Employee will work in an area where there is moving warehouse equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
