The Environmental Assistant is responsible for managing and processing hazardous waste manifests, maintaining regulatory documentation, and supporting Environmental Compliance Coordinators with daily operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and familiarity with administrative systems and regulatory processes.
- Process and manage inbound hazardous waste load manifests
- Prepare and print manifest packets, including load sheets for outgoing hazardous waste shipments
- Verify detailed information for both incoming and outgoing hazardous waste manifests to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Upload hazardous waste manifests to the EPA website
- Print and distribute manifests for all company locations
- Generate Certificates of Disposal (COD) packets for customers
- Assist Environmental Compliance Coordinators with day-to-day operational tasks
- Maintain and update required EPA spreadsheets for all locations
- Consolidate equipment paperwork and create manifests for outgoing loads
- Verify serial numbers, equipment types, storage dates, and weights for accuracy
- Review and verify Certificates of Disposal received from Transfer, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs) to ensure accurate disposal information
- File and maintain organized records in accordance with regulatory requirements
