POSITION TITLE: DENTAL HYGIENIST
***$1500 Sign on Bonus
FLSA: EXEMPT

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited Hygiene program
- Valid Florida Dental Hygiene License
- Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification preferred
- Able to work in harmony with other dental staff
- BLS required.
- Self-Motivated
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Prophylaxis, root planning, polishing, full mouth debridement, and placing sealants
- Oral hygiene instructions
- Topical fluoride application
- Exposing and developing dental radiographs, taking digital x-rays
- Participate in dental assistant duties such as setting up and breaking down dental operatory
- Evaluate overall oral health, examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease, possible cancer, recession or bleeding gums and other oral lesions.
- Asses dental condition and needs of patients using approved patient screening procedures, including medical history reviews, dental charting, and periodontal charting.
- Administer local anesthesia in preparation for hygiene procedures and advance dental preventative and periodontal procedures.
- Cleaning and sterilization of dental hygiene instruments
- Cleaning and maintenance of dental hygiene equipment and treatment areas
- Other duties as assigned
