Job Summary:
We are seeking a hardworking, energetic, and creative Junior Graphic Designer to join our Suncor Stainless/Atlantis Rail marketing team. Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer of both divisions, Suncor Stainless and Atlantis Rail. The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for producing all corporate marketing collateral for Suncor Stainless and Atlantis Rail. All creative works are targeted to the marine, industrial and architectural markets. The Junior Graphic Designer will work at the direction of the Senior Graphic Design along with the Marketing Managers throughout all phases of each project. This includes, but is not limited to the research, concept, design, quoting, and production phases involved in the collateral materials required on our many marketing campaigns. A wide degree of creativity and ability is expected in the variety of tasks the Junior Graphic Designer will perform. The Junior Graphic Designer must have a full grasp of the concepts, practices and procedures involved in graphic arts, desktop publishing, print production (catalog, flyers, and brochures) and web development imagery. Ideal candidates for this position will possess 1-3 years’ experience and rely on professional knowledge to accomplish company goals and marketing objectives in a timely fashion.
Job Responsibilities:
- Produce all collateral materials required for Suncor Stainless and Atlantis Rail.
- Consistently update product blocks per instruction from Marketing Managers.
- Maintain all product libraries.
- Produce catalog copy and maintain catalog on a print ready basis, consistently.
- Quote all print jobs and consistently negotiate the best prices available for company collateral.
- Take photographs of items including, but not limited to new products, damaged products, instructions, etc.
- Develop advertising material, content creation skills desired.
- Develop and maintain new and current product packaging.
- Learn and maintain proficiency in technical aspects of the product and acquire the ability to explain and create collateral for products as required.
- Offer creative input on any project when requested.
- Assist in developing instruction sets and training materials including installation videos.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BFA in Graphic Design, desired.
- 1-3 years progressive design and print experience.
- Experience with Mac and PC platforms required.
- Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills, required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, required.
- Proficient Microsoft Suite skills.
- Photography and Video Editing, preferred.
- Experience (1 year minimum) as a graphic designer working within a creative/marketing department.
- Thorough understanding of design processes from concept to completion.
- Proficiency in desktop publishing and photo imaging software.
- The ability to create installation videos using video editing is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and processes simultaneously.
· Excellent time-management skills with ability to juggle multiple projects, managing timelines and expectations.
- Ability to interact and build relationships with print vendors and other employees.
- Excellent oral and written communications.
- Ability to present creative works to the Marketing Managers and other company management.
