PositionSummary : Our client is lookingfor an experienced asphalt paving crew that has at least combinedtotal of 2 years of operatingand / or performing the following : paving screed raking and shovelling.
The successful candidate shallalso have a valid drivers license with a cleanrecord.
Responsibilities :
- Ensurea safe work environment in compliance with safety policies andprocedures.
- Perform and monitorPaving Operations for depth yield cross slope and densitycompliance.
- Ensure crew and trucksoperate efficiently determining asphalt tonnage and mixtype.
- Maintain and clean assignedequipment reporting necessary repairspromptly.
- Park equipment safelyfollowing clear zonerequirements
- Ensure all equipment isfueled and filled with water at the end of eachshift.
- Complete Daily EquipmentCondition Reports and submit themdaily.
Requirements / Qualifications :
- 2years of demonstrable industryrelated experience required with anemphasis on asphalt pavingactivities.
- An understanding of theroad construction industry and the ability to work under deadlinesin a fastpacedenvironment.
- Understanding of OSHAregulations pertaining to road construction and asphaltoperations
- Capable of heavy liftingclimbing balancing stooping kneeling crawling crouching andreaching
- Must be able to meet allsafety requirements and applicable safetypolicies.
- Able to work outdoors withperiodic exposure to environment with high levels of noise greaseand dust that is typically associated with a constructionproject.
- Demonstrates strongleadership abilities and excels as a collaborative team player withstrong interpersonal skills.
