What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing/Coding Analyst - Ancillary position at SUNY Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary:
Under the general guidance of the Financial Improvement Manager, the Billing/Coding Analyst-Ancillary is responsible for auditing state employed providers, maintaining the annual audit process, and assisting with training and creation of training materials. This individual will act as a resource for provider questions and as a liaison for the Advanced Practitioner Workforce team. Responsible for applying/correcting diagnosis codes and CPT codes according to coding rules and regulations for both professional and facility billing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) and three (3) years of coding and billing experience OR current CPC (Certified Professional Coder) and four (4) years of coding and billing experience required. Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Auditing experience preferred. Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration recommended but not required.
