Job Overview
Promote, establish, communicate, implement safety expectations and initiatives; monitor and stimulate the execution of the company's safety policies, rules, and procedures; and monitor conformance with field projects and manufacturing sites safety execution plans and implement improvements and corrections where appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Manage and verify compliance with the Local and state health, safety, and environmental policies, plans, programs, and procedures.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve our EHS performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting the results
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports, such as OSHA 300 log, training logs, SDS book, action plans, etc.
- Participate in management staff meetings and other relevant in-house and outside field meetings.
- Conduct EHS required training in compliance with federal and state regulations for Construction and General industry
- Perform annual facility emergency evacuation drills
- Prepare, conduct, and document scheduled manufacturing safety meetings and field job inspections.
- Perform and document stop-work actions as needed
- Conduct field audits and document the resolution of unsafe acts or conditions
- Perform required in-house safety training. And coordinate third-party training.
- Maintain employee training, safety metrics, and incident data on various Safety tools like Velocity EHS, Procore, ISN and Paylocity.
- Perform a weekly/ monthly “sampling” review of company JSA’s
- Participate in investigations, follow-up, and corrective actions of incidents per the company's incident management procedures
- Communicate EHS expectations to personnel and third-party contractors
- Administer the project site's drug and alcohol program
- Administer the Rosenberg, GPS driving tracking software according to the Driver’s policy.
- Review and maintain the required personal protective equipment supply
- Prepare and submit the required customer pre-qualification documentation and job-specific safety plans
- Conduct safety orientations for all employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications And Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental, or a related field is a plus
- Industry certifications are a plus (CHST, OHST, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an EHS Advisory role with construction and general industry experience
- Must be knowledgeable of regulatory requirements and experienced in EHS Management systems
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Written skills include the ability to write investigation reports and other correspondence. Verbal skills include the ability to speak to large groups of people, making presentations, excellent telephone skills, and good interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge in ISN, Velocity EHS, Procore and Paylocity training is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to travel as needed
