QC Lab Tech

POSITION PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Quality Control Lab Technician is responsible for testing samples in the lab, verifying instrument calibrations, collecting environmental samples, and other assignments as needed.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform physical testing of raw materials and finished products.
• Perform calibration and verification of lab equipment.
• Collect environmental samples throughout manufacturing.
• Maintain records and charts of environmental testing.
• Any other duties and/or assigned responsibilities.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in quality in a manufacturing environment, nutritional or dietary supplements.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to understand and follow GMPs, SOPs and GLPs.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS office, excel and word.
• Experience within manufacturing process a plus.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ensure quality at each task, and maintain proficiency for meeting deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  
The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs on a regular basis. Work safely with chemicals with reasonable safety accommodations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Mainly manufacturing environment which may include standing, sitting, bending, twisting, walking, climbing stairs, strong odors.  Confined spaces, warm and cold temperatures, wet/slippery and slick surfaces.  Overtime may be required based on manufacturing needs.
