Overview of the Role
· Coordinate accounting department operational functions with Finance Director to include training and retaining skilled accounting staff
· Assist with payroll preparation and expense reporting
· Assist with accounts payable and receivables to include collections support and customer and supplier record maintenance
· Manage the accumulation and reconciliation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting and preparation of internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAP
· Maintain reporting of key business performance metrics to assist Management with financial decisions and cash management
· Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes to include internal controls and staff assignments as needed
· Coordinate activities of external auditors
Requirements:· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA/MSA a plus
· Experience as a senior-accountant or assistant controller
· Several years of accounting experience
· Working knowledge of business law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
· Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
· Strong computer skills required
· Ability to lead colleagues with confidence and conviction
· Strong analytical and investigative skills
· Strong attention to detail
