What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology (IT) Assistant position at Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority?
Job Description
Performs the installation of hardware, software, and peripherals for airport users as well as the installation and maintenance of various computer systems overseen by the Information Technology Department.
Essential Functions:
- Install and maintain workstations, servers, and software. Including but not limited to; parking, access control, video surveillance, phones and phone system, flight information, baggage handling, and fire alarms.
- Perform and assist with daily IT system backup, as well as system/data restoration.
- Evaluate hardware and software needs and purchases.
- Maintain virtual servers and virtual server environment.
- Manage IT network and network hardware.
- Perform and maintain security updates.
- Maintain anti-virus installation and updates.
- Manage airport-assigned cellular phones and mobile devices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Associates degree in information technology or related field or, 3 years of experience with applicable certifications in lieu of education
Experience:
- Two-years’ experience in hardware/software administration and troubleshooting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft products (e.g. Office, Windows, Windows Server)
- Advanced computer troubleshooting skills
- Networking basics and troubleshooting
- Experience with VMware
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl frequently
Work Environment:
- Mostly office environment with occasional exposure to industrial-type environment
Credentials/Certification:
- Valid driver’s license
