Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects to ensure profitability
- Participate in project resource planning
- Monitor and improve crew productivity
- Identify and pursue bidding opportunities
- Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare estimates
- Obtain quotes from vendors and subcontractors
- Collaborate with engineers for final project design
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and safety procedures
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of company equipment
- Interpret project plans and specifications
- Oversee projects from bidding through completion
- Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy highway, bridge, and/or railroad construction
- Proficiency in reading engineering plans and specifications
- Basic computer skills for reporting and communication
- Experience with estimating software (HCSS Heavy Bid preferred)
- Familiarity with accounting software and job cost tracking
- Strong focus on safety standards and practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to obtain necessary site clearances (e.g., E-railsafe)
- Understanding of heavy equipment such as cranes, excavators, and pile drivers
