TITLE: Technical Writer
ANTICIPATION DURATON: 6 months
LOCATION: Mountain View, CA
Description:
As a Technical Writer, you plan, research, and produce content for medium-sized projects or clearly defined portions of larger projects, with minimal supervision. You identify and build a network of collaborators to determine timelines and discrete tasks for assigned components of a project.
You apply working knowledge of the technical details and/or fundamental concepts of your product or project to:
- Anticipate what information users need,
- Understand how users get that information, and
- Create that information within the scope of the product or project.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and edit content for self and others to improve the content accuracy, clarity, concision, and organization to better meet users' needs.
- Plan and research content and/or information architecture for medium-sized projects that are of moderate to high complexity.
- Participate in planning and prioritization meetings with relevant stakeholders (e.g., engineers, product managers, program managers, marketing, legal, customers) to understand user needs and product/program goals and align content accordingly.
- Manage expectations and maintain relationships with stakeholders with minimal guidance.
- Update content based on product or program changes and user feedback, and update or delete irrelevant or outdated content, with minimal guidance.
- Use working knowledge of the domain and work with subject matter experts to create and deliver content based on project goals and user needs.
- Use appropriate information architecture, format, voice, and style based on the audience and the purpose of the content. (For example, content can be read by end users, customers, and/or be intended to train or evaluate AI systems.)
- Prepare drafts for review via relevant tools and ensure quality of content through iteration with minimal guidance.

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $70.00 to $81.92/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
