Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant community outreach, teaching, facilitation, or volunteer experience, behavioral healthcare experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED; 2-3 yrs
- Experience in Sales or Marketing
- Understanding and/or experience working with people with Mental Health and SUD challenges.
- Experience with outreach to local organizations and government agencies

- The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting including FBI, drug screening, Metropolitan Police Clearance, and CFSA and pre-employment physical/negative TB test
- Must have own transportation to carry out job duties and responsibilities
- The vehicle must meet legal requirements (insured, registered, etc.), and the employee must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a passion for helping people and serving others.
- Acute awareness and understanding of the elements of effective customer service delivery.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, and are comfortable speaking one-on-one and to larger groups.
- Outgoing personality and unwavering, positive attitude, with the ability to comfortably engage with others in person and via video conference or phone.
- All candidates must be committed to a drug-free workplace and ready for pre-employment substance abuse testing and background checks.
- Highly organized and motivated.

Job Description:
Responsible for acting as the company's initial and primary point of contact with current and future participants. Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- The Community Engagement Specialist will do street outreach to identify eligible clients who are dealing with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) who would otherwise be difficult to find or have challenges accessing services. Provides superior, professional, and courteous service to participants
- Build rapport, cultivate relationships, and reply to questions from prospective enrollees and referral sources (such as service providers).
- The Community Engagement Specialist will screen potential program participants for program eligibility and complete the program referral and brief assessment.
- The Community Engagement Specialist will schedule intakes at T&N using eligible intake slots.
- The Community Engagement Specialist will establish and maintain ties with other social service organizations and outreach professionals in the service areas.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local social service and public benefit agencies, shelters, faith-based and community-based organizations, and other organizations that serve at-risk and vulnerable populations.
- Participate in organizational events
- Market services provided by T&N
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings and receive regular supervision.
- Keep track of and document all outreach attempts.
- As needed, attend professional trainings and conferences.
- As needed, assist other Specialists.
- Approximately 90% of the time may be spent working with participants in the field, in the automobile, outside, or in shelters.
- Organizes daily work without significant guidance.
- Provide telephonic, written, and face to face outreach and orientation services.
- Perform all other responsibilities as specified
