Billion dollar healthcare company targeting a Director of Accounting to lead and support our accounting team during an exciting period of transformation and growth!
Role is hybrid Whittier/Montebello
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily staff activities and work assignments, ensuring productivity and accountability
- Foster a strong culture of ownership and performance within the accounting team
- Review team projects to ensure accuracy, priorities, and adherence to best practices
- Collaborate on planning and strategy to meet departmental goals
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closings and reports
- Oversee all general ledger operations, including closing processes and monthly financial reviews
- Review and analyze account schedules and reconciliations to ensure completeness and compliance
- Assist Controller or designee in year-end adjustments and reporting
- Develop and enforce a month-end close calendar with strict deadline adherence
- Research complex accounting issues to ensure GAAP compliance
- Recommend and implement policies and procedures that strengthen accounting processes
- Train and support staff on accounting systems, policies, and procedures
- Provide necessary documentation for audits and tax engagements
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants
- Evaluate team performance through quarterly metrics and feedback
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA Preferred/not required
- Large company experience helpful
- Familiarity with NetSuite or Sage Intacct (preferred)
- Experience with Great Plains and advanced Excel skills

We are currently operating on Great Plains with heavy use of Excel, and plan to transition to NetSuite or Sage Intacct once current processes are stabilized
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
