Description
An Assistant Manager works with the store manager to organize, and plan daily operations. They also coordinate retail store operations and ensure employees meet store schedules and objectives.
Requirements
Essential functions
• Ensure that employees provide exceptional customer service
• Ensure accuracy and integrity through all departments
• Assist Manager with daily operations as needed
• Follow and enforce all Company Policies and established procedures in the store operations
• Motivate, encourage, coach and challenge store employees
• Assist with new employee onboarding and training program
• Ensure that employees respond promptly to risks, hazards, and emergencies
• Promote and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
• Show effective time management, constantly monitoring store staffing levels and creating staff schedules
• Monitor cash over/short and inventory shrinkage daily
• Operate tools and equipment safely
• Comply with Loss Prevention guidelines
• Comply with supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude
• Function as a team member and get along with others
• Adhere to daily work schedule
• Work weekends, any shift, holidays and overtime as needed
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned

Physical requirements
• Grasping, bending, twisting, squatting,
• Move, lift (minimum height of 4' on a regular basis), and carry a minimum of 40lbs
• Walk, stand, climb ladders, be on feet entire shift
• Push/pull a heavy-loaded pallet with manual pallet jack
• Push/pull a loaded stock cart
• Demonstrate above-average manual dexterity
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
5 years of retail supervisory experience preferred
N.M. Food Handlers Permit (will certify)
Age requirement
Minimum age 21
